H.1 City Escape
Overview: City Escape, dispite its size, is actually a decently hard level to completely A-rank. There is the annyoing 'truck part' that can completely mess up runs on Missions 1,4, and 5. Some general A-rank tips I can give are:
1. Spindash down the truck part. This shaves off a TON of time. And, it actually minimizes the chance off spilling your rings on this part. This can take some practice to memorize where the dash pannels are, however.
2. Spindash down the side of building. I used to suspect bouncing was fastest, but whatever.
Hardest mission to complete: Mission 4
Hardest mission to A-rank: Mission 5

H.1.1 City Escape Mission 1
Points to needed to A-rank: 18,000
This one isn't that difficult. The only thing that can prevent you achieving an "A", is that this levels can be very difficult to get a good run on. What? The first stage's first mission hard? Yes, parts like the truck part and some of the cylinder parts can literally run over good runs--so be careful.
Tips:
1. Absolutely, always go for the ramps in the beggining. (Press the 'jump' button at the right time to gain points.) These ramps can give you either 200, 500, or 1000 points. Try to have roughly 2000 points by the time you're done with the part where Sonic is boarding.
2. Break the metal box in an early part of the stage where a path of rings for Sonic to dash on appear. This not only gives you a substantial amount of rings, it is faster that taking the lower route.
3. Make sure you go off the consecutive ramps correctly on the part where Sonic runs quickly down the city. Each ramp gives you 200 points, and if you get them all, you get 800 points!
4. Kill the Gold Beatle. This may seem rather obvious, but it is in a rather difficult spot to reach. Go up the half-pipe before the park-part to find it. (You also get 20 rings out of the deal.)
5. Get the invincability box. This DOULES your points. To get it. Jump off a horizontal pole near the last rail in the stage. You can kill the beatles consecutively to get a bonus 300 points once you get the box.

H.1.2 City Escape Mission 2
Time needed to A-rank: 1:20
Mission 2's: usually easiest to A-rank. This one is no exception. It is almost impossible NOT TO A-rank this mission if you know where the rings you wanna get are. Follow the tips and you'll be fine. Restart if you get hurt in general, as is the case of most mission 2's.
Tips:
1. Get as many rings as you rings as you can at the beginning. This means you may not want to go on the first ramp.
2. After the begging, go to the iron box--break it. Once Sonic ring dashes, do a spindash jump (hold down spindash and jump during the dash) to get a box containing 10 rings on the half-pipe thing you would normally run on.

H.1.3 City Escape Mission 3
Time needed to A-rank: 2:30
If you know where the Chao is, mission 3's are very easy to A-rank. This one is no exception. This level doesn't have a lot of parts where you can jump or skip (like Final Rush), but it does have subtle jumps and dashes that save time.
Tips:
1. The Mystic Shrine, needed to find the Lost Chao is located after the building you run down. Jump off the building or spindash down it, and play the Melody. A spring will appear and you will have to jump up to a red pole with the help of some springs and pulleys. Jump off the red pole when sonic's shoes are VERY RED. He will jump up and you must face into the building to land in the Chao room (it's not that hard).
2. These are some general tips for speed running. It maybe faster to skip the parts with the ramps for speed, but decide ahead of time. It's slower to hit them and not land the jump than to avoid them. I would avoid the hunters (tall robots), but it's not a huge deal. Also, avoid rings that are behind you because you are only judged on time.
